Mostly Harmless <o.O?>
A Final Fantasy XIV Free Company on Coeurl of the Crystal Datacenter
Our house is located in Plot 30, Ward 19 of Shirogane.
Founded by a few friends and family, Mostly Harmless started as a way for that small group to have access to the benefits of the Free Company system. When housing was added we quickly pooled resources and purchased a small house. When workshops were introduced we then purchased one and in just a short time had fielded our first airship.
Over time we added members and lost a few. We also upgraded first to a medium and finally a large mansion. As we look forward to what the Endwalker expansion brings our FC is ready to tackle the new content as well as any new features added to the Free Company and Housing systems.
We have our own Discord server filled with screenshots, memes, and more. We also hang out to chat some nights and during events.

Semi-Annual FC Screenshot Day
Posted August 21st, 2022
Our semi-annual Free Company screenshot day was pushed back a bit but we did it! Got some good screenshots from Shochraos, Boyfriend, Taishi, and more.

Streamers
https://twitch.tv/secretive_life_
Secretive Life, who we often just call 'Secret', streams on a semi-regular basis. He frequently streams high-end content such as Extremes, Savages, and Ultimates.
https://www.twitch.tv/thunder4616
Thunder4616 or "Thunder" is from New Zealand. He streams on a regular schedule. Thunder plays Final Fantasy XIV a lot and occasionally other games. While mostly a PS4 gamer, he plays FF14 on PC with controller. He also writes his own tunes sometimes, some of which are played his Starting Soon, BRB and Stream Ending scenes.

State of the FC 2022.5
Posted June 7th, 2022
It has really been 6 years since the FC was founded. Time flies so fast. Mostly Harmless was the second incarnation of an FC founded by Taishi, Ouros, and I. This one stuck.
We've been closed for recruiting since my last SotFC, but picked up a few friends and family as new members - so welcome to them! With a few high profile games launching some of us took extended breaks from the game. Some breaks were longer than others. I, myself, am just getting back having missed a whole content patch. Fortunately everyone stepped up and kept the FC running by picking up FC actions and the like. @Kai,Ascian of Creation keeps the submarine fleet moving and leveling, @Sec Life/Himitsu stepped up and kept events going. My thanks to everyone but a shout out to those two for maintaining the activities for the FC.
We're gonna try to get back into a groove and yet flexible routine for Sunday events. Rotating between maps, mount farming, and running more current content. Our submarines should soon be returning the materials we need to unlock and then build the candy-house walls! Something I and some others are looking forward to, although I know not everyone is thrilled with the candy house. But not to worry, we never leave things alone for too long, sooner or later we'll be back to a non-candy house.
(Tag changed to "Pride")
For those wondering about the current FC tag - though Stonewall in 1969 was the 'start' of the modern LGBT+ civil rights movement it wasn't until 2015 that our LGBT+ friends and family had access to some basic human rights like marriage. Pride is as important as ever as those hard-fought rights come under renewed attack. Changing the FC tag doesn't do much, but I hope it symbolizes our commitment to making Mostly Harmless a welcome and diverse space, one where our LGBT+ friends can feel at home and as themselves.
So thank you all, for going on this journey with us. It has been fun and inspiring. Here's to another 6 years of being Mostly Harmless! Mostly.

State of the FC 2021.99
Posted December 29th, 2021
A new year rolls up on us and its time to look back and reflect a bit and then turn our eyes forward to what lies in store.
We experienced a lot of growth in 2021. Our roster nearly doubled in size and we have many more active players now. I've tried to start getting to know all the more recent additions but I'm still working on connecting with and learning about some people. Please continue to make our newer members feel welcome, as you guys and gals always try to do.
On a personal note, I'm hitting a milestone that is interesting to me. Before playing FFXIV I played World of Warcraft and I did so for about eight years. Near the end of that time logging on felt like a chore. Managing and leading raid groups felt like wrangling egos and quelling drama more than defeating content. Ours was a once top-tier raid guild in decline and there was no denying it any longer. There came a time I just couldn't do it anymore and I handed over the leadership of the guild to a long-time member, said some goodbyes, and logged out of WoW for what would be the last time.
Fast forward to today and I've now been in FFXIV for eight years. I feel like our FC is filled with some of the best people I've ever gamed with. I enjoy the company of everyone I've gotten to know and look forward to getting to know those who I haven't had as much contact with. We've consistently done events for more than two years now and just started doing current content EX (extreme) as a group and it went well. I've been as excited during this expansion as I was first venturing into Eorzea. The game is still fun.
There is a reason for that. You all. You all make this game fun. And I love you all for it.
So what does 2022 hold? We're gonna keep doing EX content as it comes out. Maps will be getting portals soon so we'll be mixing in map nights again. And during patch downtime we'll once more revisit old content to get people special mounts, clear story like the Coils, and any other content we decide to set our sights on.
Will we open up recruitment again? Maybe. We've got a good dynamic going right now that I wouldn't want to shake up, yet you guys and gals are so awesome it seems wrong not to let more people get to know you. So we'll see.
Will we move our FC house? It is an expensive process and now with the new lottery system an element of luck is involved, too. We'll discuss it more when the new housing is closer to releasing.
Will we convince Kai to go bunny? Time will tell.
Will we remain Mostly Harmless? Mostly.
